On 25th July 1978, the world’s first IVF baby, Louise Joy Brown, was born.  This was following pioneering work by Dr Patrick Steptoe, Scientist Robert Edwards and the first ever Embryologist Jean Purdy.

To mark this special day, Louise’s 40th birthday, the staff at Fertility Exeter decorated the waiting room with fun facts about IVF and the clinic, balloons and provided cupcakes for the patients attending the clinic. Happy birthday Louise Brown!
